[Photo of a girl with mobile phone]TruVideo solutions are designed to transmit video to heterogeneous mobile environments. Our software runs on multiple device platforms and streams over a variety of networks. TruVideo’s patented solutions are the result of fifty person-years of research and development.

There are a number of technical challenges in wireless video communication. First, time varying channel impairments are inherent in wireless communication. Second, the bandwidth of current and emerging wireless networks are substantially smaller than wire-line networks. Bandwidth limitation requires powerful video compression techniques that result in high-quality image rendering. Third, power consumption limitations require that video players on the device drain as little battery power as possible. Lastly, over-the-air distribution of the video player requires that the player’s footprint be small enough to be downloaded in a matter of seconds.

Truvideo addresses all of the above issues for a wide range of phone platforms and in a variety of different modes. Truvideo supports all color phones with Java, BREW, Symbian, or Pocket PC, regardless of whether they are low-end, mid-tier, or high-end handsets. Modes include: download and playback, remote content playback, streaming, and live camera streaming. TruVideo's patented network protocols result in a smooth streaming experience over GSM and CDMA 2G, 2.5G and 3G networks. The size of the TruVideo player is quite small, enabling over-the-air download of the player. The Java player is 10 kilobytes. The BREW and Symbian players are 40 kilobytes. TruVideo supports over 95% of all mobile phones.

Truvideo's suite of products include players, encoders, and servers for BREW, Java, Symbian and Pocket PC platforms, as well as 3GP and 3GP2 servers supporting RTSP streaming standards.
